Great Louisiana food and decor. Hopefully some music can be added soon as this would be a great addition to the atmosphere

"What we've found is that good food breaks down prejudice."
On Dec. 17th we will partner with Eatspeakstpete to host a film screening and open discussion over lunch. This is as much about the issues as it is about the food. Fried chicken may not be on the menu this time around but that doesn't mean we can't sneak you a few trade secrets from one of the best and most iconic restaurants in New Orleans, which is where the heart and soul behind the Chief's Creole Cafe menu comes from!
Our Event Lunch Menu: (included with ticket price)
Appetizer: Crawfish Fritters
Entree: Gumbo, a Creole classic, paired with Shrimp and Grits, a Southern classic.
Dessert: New Orleans style Beignets
To drink, we're channeling the south once again with a choice of sweetened or unsweetened tea.

We are happy to be the first local business to host an Eatspeakstpete event. Will we see you there? Head over to the event page to see more about the event and purchase your tickets!
No matter what may seem to divide us, a good meal always brings people together again. That is the thought process behind the Eat.Speak.St. Pete series.
Few things made the political, social and economic divide in our nation more apparent than the recent election cycle and all that has followed. Healing our nation may seem impossible but this city is ours and there is no better place to start the process of understanding one another like our own backyards.
This is the first of what we hope will be a series of events hosted at small businesses all over St. Petersburg and the Tampa Bay area. We hope you will join us as we bring together a diverse group of people to promote conversation that can only be had when you join together with others of different racial, religious and economic backgrounds. Our goal is to give everyone a seat at our table and support the small business owners in our community at the same time.
Next time you drive along I-275 or past Tropicana Field consider what was once in their places -- a thriving community with more than 100 businesses that served the black residents of historic St. Petersburg. This is a short clip from the film Eat.Speak.St.Pete: Southside. We will screen the film on Dec. 17 at Chief's Creole Cafe over a hearty lunch. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion that tackles topics like how the I-275 and Tropicana Field contributed to the current state of South St. Pete. Tickets for the screening are $25. With your purchase and attendance, you expose yourself to another side of your community over an awesome meal while supporting local business.

We will be hosting a different kind of event in a few weeks and we're so excited about the interest so far. This event and our partnership with Eatspeakstpete has been months in the making. Here is a behind-the-scenes photo from the shooting of the Eat.Speak.St.Pete: Southside film that was recorded at our restaurant and all over the Southside a few months ago. We wanted to see what it would be like to bring together people from different backgrounds to have conversations about race, gentrification, crime and other social issues. On Dec. 17, we'll be screening the short film over an awesome meal then opening up the floor to discuss how the issues that came up in the film impact all the cross sections of our community. Tickets are $25. Click here to get yours >>> https://www.eventbrite.com/e/eatspeakst-pete-delicious-meal-thoughtful-conversation-tickets-29759982910
