Beach Time

When you're not following play from the gallery, you can follow the gentle waves along 35 miles of pristine award-winning beaches, which are so spectacular in St. Petersburg/Clearwater. In fact, in 2008, Caladesi Island was ranked America's No. 1 Beach by Dr. Stephen Leatherman, aka Dr. Beach. Or, check out Fort De Soto Park's North Beach, which was named America's No. 1 Beach by TripAdvisor. If the family is looking for some quiet beach time, Fort De Soto is the place (it was named the nation's best family beach by Parents magazine in June 2011).

Or, check out Clearwater Beach, which is often referred to as the Best Activity Beach on the Gulf of Mexico. While there, be sure to take in the new Beachwalk, a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly area that perfectly complements the natural beauty of Clearwater's world-renowned beach. In addition to the centerpiece promenade, visitors can also enjoy beachfront dining and unique shops, bringing new life to an already legendary destination. Beachwalk features a two-and-a-half-mile-long walk that begins at the bustling Pier 60 and runs south along both sides of South Gulfview Boulevard.
