Go Rays!
Welcome to St. Petersburg/Clearwater, home of the Tampa Bay Rays. Relax on our world famous beaches by day and cheer your favorite team by night. Having made the playoffs three times in the past four years, the Rays are a constant contender in the battle for the American League East, which some will argue is the toughest division in baseball. A high powered offense and play making defense make every game exciting to watch.
Fun for all
Always a home run for family fun, baseball fans of all ages can root for their favorite Rays players, who play indoors at Tropicana Field. The ‘Trop’, as it is more commonly known, has plenty of activities for the whole family to enjoy. Fans are encouraged to check out the Rays Tank, a 10,000 gallon touch tank filled with over 30 cow nose rays that visitors can touch and feed during game time. Located on the outskirts of the playing field, Left Field Street and Right Field Street are interactive areas where fans can participate in all things baseball.
Take swings against computer images of real Major League pitchers, throw your hardest fastball in speed pitch and even have your own Topps baseball card created. There is no limit to the fun during a Rays baseball game. Since their inception in 1998, the club has played at the ‘Trop’, where the famous glowing orange dome shines after every home win.
Good Eats on Game Day
If you want to grab a bite before or after the game, check out these nearby options. Across the street from Tropicana Field, the legendary two-story Ferg's Sports Bar & Grill, with dozens of flat-screen TVs, game-day drink specials and the Rays Burger, is one of the most popular game-day hangouts.
For traditional baseball fare at old-fashioned prices, you can't beat the landmark Coney Island Hot Dogs, which has been serving chilidogs on Ninth Street North since Babe Ruth came to town for spring training.
