Enjoy wandering around the only year-round fine art market with a beachfront setting and beautiful views of the Gulf of Mexico. Feel the sea breeze as you visit local artists' booths, including one-of-a-kind paintings, photography, fused glass objects, metal art, wooden chairs, sculptures, knitted ribbon sweaters, jewelry for your ears to your feet, and much more.
The market is located in the historic and laid-back community of Pass-a-Grille at the southern tip of St. Pete Beach, which was voted TripAdvisor's No. 1 Beach in the U.S. and No. 5 in the world for 2012.
Quaint Pass-a-Grille is believed to have gotten its name ("Passe aux Grilleurs," in French) from 18th-century "grilleurs" who dried fish on its white sands. The soft white sand is never more than a block or so away in this quiet retreat.
Taking place every Saturday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., the Suntan Art Center's Pass-a-Grille Art Mart treats you to music as you meander along the artists' fine wares. Take a break by sitting on the pristine white sand or dip your toes in the beckoning Gulf. You can easily spend an entire day here.
The Art Mart is located between 9th and 10th Avenues on Gulf Way next to the Paradise Grill and across the street from the well-known Hurricane Seafood Restaurant, where sunsets are an institution.
