Spring Events
In March, the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg brings IndyCar racing action to the streets of downtown St. Pete. Also in March, the Tampa Bay Championship, a prestigious PGA tour event, returns to the famed Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club. For the Tampa Bay Blues Festival in April, some of the biggest names in blues come to play at Vinoy Park on St. Pete's bayfront. Also in April, you can experience Scottish culture in charming Dunedin during the action-packed Dunedin Highland Games. April's Mainsail Arts Festival in St. Pete is one of the country's top 200 fine arts events and draws 100,000 visitors annually.
Summer Events
For A Taste of Pinellas in June, more than 50 local restaurants serve up tasty samples in St. Pete's scenic Vinoy Park. Also in June, St. Pete Pride celebrates gay pride with one of Florida’s largest street festivals and GLBT parades. Many communities celebrate the Fourth of July with music, family activities and fireworks, which are often over the water for breathtaking effect. Around Labor Day, GeckoFest in Gulfport wraps up the summer with a family-style Mardi Gras event with parades, beach games, concerts and colorful costumes. Tampa Bay Rays Baseball entertains all ages from April through September - enjoy this classic summer pastime at Tropicana Field in downtown St. Pete.
Fall Events
In October, the Clearwater Super Boat National Championship & Festival blends speed, water and a collection of exciting events. Also in October are the waterfront Clearwater Jazz Holiday, one of the largest jazz concerts in the country, and the John’s Pass Seafood Festival, which serves up seafood, live music, a kids' costume contest and more.
Holiday Celebrations
In December, SnowFest in St. Pete features a Santa parade, ice-skating and "real" snow. Many coastal communities have their own lighted boat parades – these festive holiday parades sail through St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island and more. First Night St. Petersburg celebrates New Year’s Eve with music, art and entertainment. Stages line the streets, musicians perform and fireworks blast off at midnight.
