Outback Bowl and Beach Day

Explore America's top-rated beaches while you enjoy all exciting offerings surrounding the Outback Bowl. St. Pete/Clearwater welcomes all of the friends, family and fans from the Georgia Bulldogs (SEC) and the Michigan State Spartans (Big Ten Conference) for the 2012 Outback Bowl.

The Outback Bowl is a culmination of a week-long schedule of events throughout the area, highlighted by Beach Day in Clearwater. The big game kicks off at 11 a.m. on January 2, 2012 at Raymond James Stadium.

Beach Day is a fun, free event taking place on Clearwater Beach, Friday, December 30, 2011. Dip your toes in the soft white sand as you cheer on your favorite team. Featuring performances and competitions by the bands and cheerleaders from the teams who will be facing each other on game day.

This beachside pep rally includes sand sculptures, music, skydivers, a tug-of-war and other contests taking place at the Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort – the Beach Day headquarters. The public is also encouraged to participate in several contests, including pie eating and trivia competitions. Both Coach Richt and Coach Dantonio are expected to attend this lively gathering.
