If you’re curious about Florida history, come visit Largo. Here you’ll find Pinewood Cultural Park, home to Heritage Village and the Florida Botanical Gardens. Heritage Village is a perennial favorite with visitors and residents – this 21-acre, open-air museum features 28 historical structures, including a restored school, church, railroad depot, store and log cabin.

Largo has reclaimed its Old Florida character in the redevelopment of its downtown district. Take a stroll in the West Bay Drive district and visit new Old Florida-style shops and restaurants. This charming district is just a short walk from Largo Central Park, known for its frequent festivals, music, plays and other events. Kids can ride the miniature train around the park on the first full weekend of every month.

Popular with picnickers and nature lovers alike, John S. Taylor Park spans 156 acres, including a 53-acre freshwater lake with excellent fishing. Small boats can be launched from a concrete boat ramp. This wooded park also includes walking trails, playgrounds and access to the nearby award winning Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail, a multi-purpose linear park and recreation trail extending from St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs.
